I will tell you What you need to know about how to prevent the expensive problems that can cost you thousands of dollars to fix. Also when you do have to spend some money on your car I have great tips and contacts to help you save as much money as you can on your fixes. Now is the time to ask. Please leave a comment and ask your questions there and I will respond with a new blog post. Thanks

  1. About 2 months ago my local garage tried to fix my air conditioning system and pronounced it dead and drained the freon out again. Ever since then, the car's been leaving spots on my driveway. Could it still be dripping freon? The spots really don't look like oil, but they're hard to obliterate..I am so glad you started this blog, but my car (2002 Intrepid) does something odd at least every other month, you may come to regret your accessibility! ;)

  2. Hi, I have a 2000 Saturn w/ about 135,000 miles on it. Long story short is it's been a great car and I've kept up w/ maintenance, but I was driving it and it started lurching a little, and then it wouldn't go into reverse. The local garage here says it's the transmission, and it'll be around $1,450 to fix (approx $790 for a used tranny w/ low miles, most of the rest for labor {due to labor costing $85/hr here in CA}). Would ♥ your thoughts on if I should fix it (mechanic thinks it'll give me at least another couple of years) or just spring for a newer car....

  3. Uncle Mike!
I have a dilema with my 2004 Dodge Neon.
Keep in mind- this only happens on cold days. When I start my car and put it into drive, everything is fine. Ill drive a couple feet, then all the sudden, when I push on the gas, the engine just revs (like its in neutral) for probably 30 seconds, then starts going again. When it does start to go, it seems like the car is popped into gear (even though my car is automatic). After that 30 seconds everything runs fine. Ive been told its the transmission, but then when I had the transmission checked they said it was fine and just needed to be serviced... which they did... and it didnt fix the problem! What do you think?

    Thanks- Kimmie

PS- I am SOOOO ecxited to see you guys in a couple of weeks! Love you!

  5. Hey Uncle Mike,
I'm so glad that you've been doing better! I have a car question for you. I have a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer. Last week, my car started making this high pitch squeak when I put it in reverse....what should I do about it?
